In order for RouteStarOnline to recognize your customer's addresses in the system, those address must be formatted in QuickBooks correctly. This article will show you how to do so.
Configuring customer addresses for use with RouteStarOnline for QuickBooks Desktop

Step 1: Identify which customers need to have their address corrected by consulting the Customer List page.
- Navigate to the Customer List page
- Ensure that the display in the bottom right hand corner is set to 'All'
- As you look at the customer list, any customer who does not display an address in the address column needs to have their address reconfigured.
Step 2: Click on that customer's name in order to access the Customer Details page.
- Locate the area that shows the customer's Service address. In order for RouteStarOnline to 'see' your customer's address, the street address must be located on Line 2 of the Service Address.
- If you need to update or correct this info, it is important to remember that any changes to a customer profile need to be made within QuickBooks.
Step 3: Open the customer's account details in QuickBooks Desktop.
- You can get there by navigating to Customers > Customer Center, or by using the CTRL+J shortcut on your keyboard.
- Once you are in the customer center double click on a customer's name in order to open their account details.
- In this window, ensure that the street address is on the 2nd line of the shipping address.
- Once the shipping address is configured correctly be sure to click 'OK'

Configuring customer addresses for use with QuickBooks Online.
- In order to configure RouteStarOnline to be able to use the addresses of your customers you must first select whether RouteStarOnline will refer to Line 1, Line 2, or Line 3 of your customer's shipping address in QuickBooks Online.
Step 1: Navigate to the QuickBooks Dashboard in RouteStarOnline

Step 2: Click on 'Manage QBO Connection'

- This will open a new browser tab in your browser window.
Step 3: Click Settings
Step 4: In the following window, select which line RouteStarOnline should refer to for your customer's shipping addresses within QuickBooks Online.
- Be sure to click 'Save' after making your selection. At this point it is safe to close the 'Manage QBO Connection' browser tab and return to RouteStarOnline.
Step 5: Identify which customers need to have their address corrected by consulting the Customer List page.
- Navigate to the Customer List page
- Ensure that the display in the bottom right hand corner is set to 'All'
- As you look at the customer list, any customer who does not display an address in the address column needs to have their address reconfigured.
Step 6: Click on that customer's name in order to access the Customer Details page.
- Locate the area that shows the customer's Service address. In order for RouteStarOnline to 'see' your customer's address, the street address must be located on the Line you selected in Step 4.
- If you need to update or correct this info, it is important to remember that any changes to a customer profile need to be made within QuickBooks.
Step 7: Open your customer's account details in QuickBooks Online and correct address.
- You can get there by navigating to Sales > Customers
- Then click on the name of the customer in the customer list
- Next, click 'Edit'
- In the window that appears, ensure that your customers street address is on the line that you indicated in Step 4 of this process.
- Be sure to click the 'Save' button when you are done making your changes.
